Frequently Asked Questions Print

Where does the name Goomzee come from?

Goomzee is the childhood nickname of a close personal friend of our company founder. Given domain name availability, no meaning in other languages (allowing a global brand) and it is simply fun to say, we decided to adopt the Goomzee name.

Why won’t people just call me?

Many buyers simply want convenient access to information.  Text messaging provides an unobtrusive way to communicate and property information is stored on the mobile phone.

What if I don’t use text messaging?

Consumers use text messaging to inquire about your campaigns so there is no requirement for you to have or use text messaging.  You can optionally receive alerts, however, via phone and/or email if you choose and all activity can be managed and monitored via our simple web administration.

How do I send a text message? (How does it work)?

To send a text message; open the Text Message program in your mobile phone.  In the "To:" field where you would normally enter a phone number, type in 44133.  Navigate to the "Message:" field and type in Prop1.  Hit Send.  If entered correctly, you will receive a sample Realty Connect campaign.  44133 is our Common Short Code (CSC) which is essentially a short phone number.  Prop1 is a GCode.

What is a GCode?

A GCode is a unique ID used to market a specific product or service.  When inquiring for information via text message, consumers input the GCode in the Message field.  The information assigned to that GCode will be sent back to the consumers mobile phone.

Do I have to buy a minimum number of GCodes?

No.  However, we have conveniently prepackaged the most common number of codes for our Individual Plans.  Our Office and Enterprise plans allow a customized assignment of any number of codes which can be distributed among users on the account.  Vanity codes can be purchased on an single code basis and consist of a combination of alpha and/or numeric characters.  For example:  Joe or Joe11 are examples of possible Vanity codes.

Where does the property information come from?

Property information that is sent to the consumers mobile phone is created and updated through our simple, online web administration.  Sales professionals simply log in to their Realty Connect account online to create and update any listing information.

Can you deliver photos?

Goomzee has just launched Mobile Virtual Tours to work in conjunction with Realty Connect as our photo-delivery service.  Goomzee's patent-pending system allows the generation and delivery of multiple photos in slideshow format delivered to mobile devices as a single message.  This provides an optimal user experience that keeps buyers coming back, thus delivering long-term value as an indispensable tool in a seller's arsenal.

What if I don’t have any listings right now?

This is the best time to sign up. By using Realty Connect, sales professionals can win more listings by using the latest technology to market properties. Using our service gives you an "edge" in listing presentations where competing sales professionals may not be as progressive.

Is there a minimum term?

We have a 90-day minimum term but we want customers for life. As market conditions fluctuate, it takes time to determine what methods work best and educate consumers on new technology. We like to point out that average commissions from selling only one additional property pay for our service for nearly 10 years.

Does it cost consumers money to text my campaigns?

No. It is free for consumers to use the service; however standard text messaging rates apply (depending on their wireless plan and carrier).

How many inquiries will I receive on my properties?

The amount of inquiries you'll receive varies depending on location, signage, traffic and consumer interest. It all depends on how you promote your campaigns (sign, flyer, advertisement). Our customers have found that using our service helps them win new listings and higher traffic generally occurs when they first list the property.

How can I increase my text message traffic?

Educating consumers about the service improves response rate.  This is achieved over time, but can be accelerated through press releases and/or a high concentration of signs in an area.  We encourage entire offices or franchises to utilize the system which not only saves money but standardizes the consumer experience and generates “buzz” about your brand.

Who uses text messaging?

Of the 255 million US mobile subscribers, over 58% use text messaging.  See our Mobile Market page for more.
